Note that some aspects are designed to be a little difficult. I've never beat the game with 0 deaths. Based on tests it should be possible though.

It might take around 40 minutes on your first playthrough.

The idea of multiple layers is there throughout the entire game; the main goal is to reach all the layers. Also you get to put on a bunch of upgrade layers.
